THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer to join our engineering team. Reporting into the Head of Operations this role is pivotal in maintaining the stability, reliability, and efficiency of our systems. You will be working with a stack that includes AWS, Fastly, Terraform, Ansible, MongoDB, NodeJS, and Datadog. Experience with data engineering platforms like Databricks and ETL processes is highly advantageous.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop, maintain, and optimize our cloud infrastructure on AWS to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Implement and manage continuous delivery systems and methodologies.
- Use Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure as code and configuration management.
- Monitor system performance using Datadog, and proactively address system issues.
- Collaborate with the development team to streamline code deployment and other operational processes.
- Maintain and improve our database systems, primarily MongoDB.
- Work with data engineering tools such as Databricks for ETL processes, optimizing data flow and collection for cross-functional teams.
- Ensure security best practices throughout our infrastructure.
- Participate in on-call rotations, providing high-quality support with a focus on reliability and uptime.
Requirements
- Experience in utilizing cloud services and infrastructure, with a preference for experience in AWS.
- Proficient in the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for automation and configuration, with a preference for experience in Ansible and Terraform.
- Familiarity with CDN technologies, preferably Fastly.
- Familiarity with MongoDB administration and optimization.
- Strong proficiency in monitoring tools, preferably Datadog.
- Knowledgeable in data engineering and ETL processes, with a preference for experience in Databricks.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
